Accreditation is a voluntary process of self regulation and peer review adopted by the educational community . Institutions of higher education have voluntarily entered into associations to evaluate each other in accordance with an institutions stated goals. Accredited status simply means a school has undergone a comprehensive examination to determine that it operates at a high level of performance. it is very desirable for a school to have good standing . Accredited Commission for Private Bible College intl., believes in the Principles of Separation of Church and States. ACPBCI is inspired by the Bible teachings, therefore is independent and has not seek any endorsement from any governmental body and make no claim of such. In fact, within higher education circles, it is understood that not all higher educational institutions actually need USDE recognized accreditation as is evident in the following quotes

This quote is from the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). "There are institutions that may not be accredited but are not degree mills. For example,

the institution may be seeking accreditation, but the process is not complete.

Or a legitimate institution may choose not to be accredited for reasons that do not relate to quality."

This quote from the United States Department of Education also makes the point.

"It should be noted that some institutions have chosen not to participate in the federal student aid program and therefore do not have to be approved by an accrediting agency recognized by the Department. While these institutions do not appear on the Department's list, they may be legitimate schools."

A former executive director of the Association for Biblical Higher Education (an accrediting agency recognized by the USDE), stated that "There are hundreds of Bible Colleges and Seminaries in the United States and Canada that are offering good solid theological training, yet they are not accredited.
